All For Naught

“All For Naught” is a collection of solo pieces performed by Tony Williamson.  From vintage Loar Mandolins to a Gibson K-10 mandocello, and including some arrangements on a few high end Gibson and Martin guitars, this piece exemplifies some of the finest tones imaginable in one diverse recording.

Known for his mandolin chops, Williamson will surprise you with his versatility on this recording!  His dobro pickin’ on “Hound Dog Howl” is exceptional, and his beautiful guitar work on an instrumental version of “My Rocky River Home” is very noteworthy.  The latter you may recognize as a song he popularized with his group The Williamson Brothers.  Other highlights include the spicy “Road To Pedro”, and his first recorded version of “Cherokee”, which was later popularized when he lent his arrangement and performance to David Grisman’s “Tone Poets” series.
